Dr. Matthias Mayr from MHPC wins prestigious Robert J. Melosh Medal Competition for best (PhD) student paper in Finite Element Analysis for his contribution

"A Finite-Element-Based Monolithic Solver for Fluid-Structure Interaction with a Novel Hybrid Schwarz Preconditioner"

The Robert J. Melosh Medal Competition for the Best (PhD) Student Paper in Finite Element Analysis was inaugurated by Duke University in 1989, to honor Professor Melosh for his pioneering work on the finite element method. This well recognized award attracts researchers in finite elements and computational mechanics from all over the world.

The Robert J. Melosh Medal Competition is endorsed by Duke University, Elsevier and the International Association for Computational Mechanics (IACM).
